Enjoy a delicious meal in the cosy surroundings of the bar or choose our wood-panelled dining room with conservatory. It's the perfect environment for long lunches and decadent dinners, and of course a hearty Yorkshire breakfast is served daily for residents and pre-booked guests.
The atmosphere at The Plough is relaxed and informal, and you'll find our team welcoming and endlessly accommodating. From boozy brunch with the girls, a warming lunch after tramping up a hill (muddy dogs welcome) or a special family celebration, you'll find a warm welcome at The Plough.
Our menu
Our delicious menu has been created with love and attention to detail. We use the best suppliers and producers in the area and our kitchen garden provides us with some homegrown fruit and veg too.
The menu and specials board change with the seasons to bring you the best meat, game, seafood and vegetables our region has to offer. Everything is made from scratch, from our famous Steak & Ale pie to our homemade gravadlax.
Whether you're coming in from the cold after a dog walk in the Dales, or visiting with family for a special celebration, we'll give you a proper Yorkshire welcome.

The Plough at Wigglesworth is the perfect rural escape for get-togethers, Â meetings and celebrations. Our newly-renovated Victorian conservatory is ideal for gatherings and we can accommodate private dining and events for groups both small and large.
At our heart, we're a traditional pub, and we've been welcoming travellers since the 18th century. We've worked hard to bring The Plough into the 21st century without sacrificing its history and we think we've found the perfect balance. Sumptuous furnishings and leather-buttoned banquettes are complemented by polished wood floors, restored panelling and cosy open fires.
Local, seasonal and made with love
Great food is at the heart of our vision for The Plough. Our menus are seasonal and our ingredients locally sourced. We work with some of the best food producers in the region and our menu features Yorkshire-reared beef, cheese from our neighbours in Wensleydale and fresh fish caught on the east coast. Our small kitchen garden contributes some fruit and veg and is where we grew the plums and elderberries for our gin made in collocation with Otterbeck Distillery.
Our talented kitchen team is headed by chef Tom, who is passionate about food and fastidious about the detail of your plate. He's created a carefully-curated menu of stylish pub classics with a twist. As well as our dinner menu, we have a specials board which changes with the seasons.
